The Footballers team will meet the group of student-athletes at one of the main U.S. airports to accompany them on their flight to the soccer camp they’ve enrolled in. After they’ve enjoyed their experience, we will fly them back safely to their families in the U.S

Does the price of each camp include the the cost of flights to Spain?

Yes, it does. Footballers secures better rates when purchasing group tickets and handles any issues that may arise with the airlines.

What is included in the Footballers program fee?

The Footballers service fee, along with our partners’ fee, covers all aspects of the soccer camp, including accommodation, meals, training sessions, coaching, and transportation. It also includes the cost of flights to and from Spain, the accompaniment of Footballers’ staff with the student-athletes, private health insurance, a cultural experience, and full support throughout their stay.

Which summer soccer camp should I enroll in?

We have partnerships with the best soccer academies in Spain, and all of them provide high-quality training with top coaches. However, I would recommend choosing the camps with the highest number of Spanish players, as training and competing with local players is key to improving your overall soccer skills. We can help guide you in making the right choice.

Are there opportunities to be scouted during the camps?

Yes, many of the camps provide exposure to scouts from top-tier clubs and academies in Spain. While it’s not guaranteed, the program equips student-athletes with the skills and visibility needed to attract attention from scouts.

Is it possible to join a Spanish local club during my stay?

Only the SPF program guarantees that players will have the opportunity to train with and compete against Spanish local teams.

Will these programs help me improve my soccer skills and increase my chances of earning a college scholarship?

Absolutely. Practicing and competing with Spanish players in your age group at a competitive level will help you become a better player in no time.

Do the soccer camps offer health insurance as part of their program?

Yes, but it only covers injuries sustained while playing soccer or at the residence. However, Footballers’ fee includes private health insurance that covers any other health-related issues.

How do families stay in contact with the soccer camps their children are part of?

The soccer camps we partner with designate Footballers as the main point of contact for families, ensuring efficiency and overcoming any language barriers.

Is there any supervision outside of training hours?

Yes, our partners’ staff supervises the participants 24/7, both during training and outside of it. We ensure that the students are safe and well taken care of at all times, whether they’re engaging in social activities or simply relaxing in their accommodation. Additionally, Footballers’ team will be available to ensure our student-athletes are taken care of at all times

What is the accommodation like during the camps?

The accommodation varies depending on the camp location but is always safe, comfortable, and designed for student-athletes. Rooms are typically shared, and meals are provided to cater to a balanced diet. Supervision is provided by qualified staff to ensure the well-being of all participants.

Can student-athletes with dietary restrictions or allergies participate?

Yes, absolutely. We work closely with camp organizers to accommodate any dietary restrictions or allergies. Parents should inform us in advance, and we will ensure the camp provides appropriate meal options for the student -athlete’s needs.

What happens if a player needs to leave the camp early due to an emergency?

In the event of an emergency, Footballers will assist in arranging transportation and support for the player’s return. We are always available to communicate with the family and coordinate any necessary arrangements promptly.

Does Footballers offer academic courses without the soccer activity?

Certainly! Footballers’ goal is to ensure that kids from around the world experience our country, culture, and language. We offer both Spanish language summer camps and full academic years at top-tier international schools.

How long do the tournaments last?

Our tournaments are multi-day events, typically lasting 3-7 days, depending on the specific competition. Each package is designed to offer the right balance of training, competition, and cultural experiences. The whole experience usually last 10 days.

How do you ensure the safety of players during the trip?

Player safety is our top priority. We provide around-the-clock support from our dedicated staff, ensure secure accommodations, and carefully plan all activities to create a safe and enjoyable environment.

Can individual players join, or is it only for teams?

Our tournaments are primarily designed for teams, but individual players interested in joining may be placed in a mixed team or connected with a participating team, depending on availability.

How far in advance should we book?

Are the tournaments held year-round?

Are players required to have a visa?

Yes, to stay more than 3 months players will need to apply for a Student Visa. For the players coming from the USA, there are two different options:

  1. Apply at the Spanish embassy in the USA. There are multiple consuls around the USA.
  2. Come with a Tourist Visa and during the first month in Spain then change the visa from a Tourist Visa to an Education Visa.

Is it possible to attend the program for a full academic year without participating in the soccer program?

Yes, it is possible to attend the program without participating in the soccer component. However, there are limitations regarding accommodation at the academy alongside students enrolled in the soccer program. In such cases, we typically arrange for students without the soccer program to stay with host families.

How many full time players have residency in the programs in Valencia and Madrid@ currently?

For the coming season, 2024-2025, starting August 1st, there are:

  • Madrid: 45 players aged 14-17.
  • Valencia: 40 players ages 10-22.

They come from 21 different countries including.

How many days a week do you train and what do players do on their days off?

Madrid:

The day starts at 7:30 AM with breakfast. Students then board the school bus and go to school to work on their core subjects from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. After that, they have football training until 5:00 PM. They return to the boarding facilities to have a high-performance snack, followed by mandatory study hours from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Dinner is served afterward, and by 10:00 PM, all students are in their rooms.

 

On weekends, students participate in local league games, and we organize social and cultural activities to ensure a well-rounded and fulfilling experience.

Valencia:

There is a total of 6 trainings per week plus one match. This ends up being about 15hrs 30mins of football per week minimum.

Additionally, the Valencia program includes 3 training sessions extra with a Spanish soccer club. Players over 18 will also play the local competitive league with their respective team.

On Sunday players have the day off to rest and study at the Resort.

Training schedule in Valencia:

  • 8:30am – 11:00am, Monday/Wednesday/Friday:  Field Technical Training & Gym.
  • 7:00pm – 9:00pm, Tuesday: game vs Spanish club

How many players stay in a room?

Madrid: there are single and double rooms.

Valencia: they are all triple rooms (grouped by age).

All the rooms will be cleaned twice a week and the sheets and towels will be changed once a week.

What is the Ratio of Coaches to Players? UEFA and/or FIFA licensed, etc?

Madrid: technical training sessions are run in groups of 10 players per coach. The whole team gathers when it’s time for team training.

Valencia: In the morning players are divided into small groups of 8-10 players per coach. All of our coaches come from pro clubs like Valencia CF or Levante UD and hold UEFA Pro licenses.

Are there scholarships available?

Madrid: No, we do not offer scholarships or financial aid for talented players. However, our NCAA accreditation provides student-athletes with the opportunity to pursue athletic scholarships at colleges and universities in the USA. Our support services include assisting athletes in connecting with college recruiters and coaches, helping them enhance their chances of securing external scholarships and financial aid based on their athletic talent.

Valencia: Unfortunately, we do not currently offer scholarships for this program. However, if a player demonstrates exceptional potential and would be a valuable addition to our program but is facing financial challenges, we are open to discussing their situation internally to explore possible solutions.

Do student-athletes have to enroll in the Spanish curriculum/course?

Madrid:

Middle School: Teachers at AAS stretch students to develop the analytical, creative, and communication skills that will serve them throughout their lives. During this fundamental time of growth, teachers in all subject areas guide students to develop and communicate their own informed points of view.

Our Middle School provides a well-balanced program in academics, athletics, and the arts, but our goal is much more ambitious, we want students to think for themselves.

High School: Our prestigious middle school and high school programs prepares students for highly selective college admissions and future careers in Spain and abroad with a choice of two diplomas: IB and AHSD. Rigorous college preparatory (SAT’s, UNED), honors courses, teach students to think creatively, collaboratively and critically. Furthermore, 100 hour of community service are required over the course of these last four academic years.

Our College Counselor will guide them along their high school journey, helping them prepare their applications and meeting the deadlines for university access.

Valencia:

Middle school: Middle School students are at a unique developmental stage and require a comprehensive program that takes into consideration their specific social, cognitive, physical, and emotional needs. At ASV, Middle School students learn in a warm and caring environment where taking risks is valued. Through the diverse range of academic opportunities, curricular subjects and co-curricular activities, students have an opportunity to develop the skills necessary to be internationally-minded community members and independent learners.

High School: High School is a four-year academic program that includes Grades 9 through 12 in the American education system. Students complete the last stages of their academic life at ASV by earning an American High School Diploma, the Spanish Bachillerato diploma (when meeting specific Spanish curriculum requirements) and, additionally, the International Baccalaureate Diploma if students choose this two-year curricular pathway beginning in Grade 11.

Does each player receive an ongoing evaluation review ? How often? In what format?

Madrid: Regular progress updates sent every month to track development both on and off the field.

Valencia: Yes, players and their families receive monthly reports covering both football training progress and academic performance. These reports are conveniently shared through the 360Player app.

Is video used in training & education? What other type of technology is utilized?

Madrid: Only training sessions are recorded and individually analyzed with each player to provide personalized feedback and improvement strategies.

Valencia: Yes, all matches are recorded using Veo. Once a game concludes, the recording is uploaded to the 360Player app. Players have full access to these videos, allowing them to create personalized highlight reels showcasing their plays, which they can include in their soccer curriculum.
